You get to pick the location(s), which means we are in your element, so that your pictures feel like you. As a high school teacher and photographer, I specialize in making people feel welcome and comfortable.

Session Details
Pre Session
If you are interested in moving forward with JB Photography we can chat over the phone, via email, or in person at my office in Germantown. It's totally up to you if you want to meet in person, some seniors (and senior's moms) feel more comfortable meeting in person, others are OK with waiting until the session to see my smiling face. However we chat, we'll hash out the details of the when and where. I have plenty of recommendations for session locations in this area, but I want you to weigh in as well!
The Day Of
We both show up on time at the agreed upon location. Don't forget your outfit changes! Depending on where we are shooting, we may take the outfit changes with us, or we may be able to leave them in the car. Sometimes we have to get a little creative as to where you can change! We'll walk around and take a whole bunch of photos. I'll have you stand or sit in certain positions so you look amazing, but will always ask if you feel comfortable or awkward. These photos are supposed to represent you, so I don't want to put you in positions that you don't feel like you. In other words, you're kind of in charge. (Kind of) Mom and/or Dad are always welcome to come with during the shoot!
Post Session
After the session, I will put up a social media sneak peek. This can be on Facebook or Instagram, you let me know which one you want. I will then put all of the proofs into a locked client gallery and email you a login and password. Then you go through and "favorite" 25 or 35 images, depending on your package. Once you have your favorites picked, I'll go through and edit those. The editing process includes, color correction, lighting correction, cropping, and some special effects like vignettes. Within 4 weeks, all of your favorites will be edited and upload to the client gallery. From the gallery you can download and order your photos. You own the copyrights to the prints, so you do not have to order through the site, but it is there for you as an option. Your client gallery will stay live for 6 weeks after I send the final images, so make sure to download and save the photos somewhere safe within that time frame.
I'm Janalee, I own JB Photography, except I feel totally weird when my photographers call me their boss.
I started this company in 2015 knowing my love for photography would be a complementary side business to my day job of teaching high school English. Since opening it has grown more than I ever expected! I love running this company. I would, however, happily get rid of all of the boring math and tax stuff that goes on behind the scenes. (I do teach English after all.)
I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III. I have a couple lenses and a couple lights. I also have backup equipment in case something malfunctions, or god forbid I drop something.
With that fancy equipment, I want to create amazing photos. Maybe even Pinterest worthy photos, but those photos aren't created by copying Pinterest, they are created by trusting your photographer. We are a company filled with professionals, like actual professionals. We didn't just buy a fancy camera and start calling ourselves professionals. We have trained and perfected our craft. We are constantly evaluating, changing, and improving our skills. I own a hammer, but you probably don't want me to build your house. Hire a professional for that, and us for your photography needs.
